Knaizen MyBooks · iPhone

Your own library. Beautifully read.

The EPUB and PDF books you already own, sitting in your iCloud Drive, become a proper library: covers on shelves, authors and series in order, and a reader made for long evenings. Your books stay in your iCloud. We never see them.

What it does

A bookshop feel. Your own books.

A real catalog of your files

Point the app at the folders in your iCloud Drive once. Your EPUBs and PDFs appear with covers, shelves for Continue Reading and Recently Added, genres, author pages, series in order, magazines by issue, and search as you type.

A reader that disappears

White, sepia, grey and night themes, your choice of font, size, spacing and margins. Pages that slide or scroll, highlights, notes, bookmarks, the dictionary, and read aloud with the iPhone's own voices. PDFs and magazines zoom smoothly.

Reading goals and history

Set a daily goal in minutes and watch it fill as you read. Streaks, time per book and a history of your reading life, without any effort from you.

Reflections

A journal for what a book made you think. Write after a session, link the entry to the book and, if you like, the passage that started it.

Talk to the book

Ask the book you are reading a question and it answers in its own words, grounded in its own pages. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence it runs on the phone itself. Subscribers can also choose a stronger engine.

Face ID lock and iCloud sync

Lock the app with Face ID or its own passcode. Your place, highlights, goals and reflections follow you through your own iCloud, so you pick up where you stopped.

Privacy

Your books stay in your iCloud.

MyBooks is a reader for books you already have, not a store and not a cloud. There is no Knaizen copy of your library, and nothing to sell.

Never uploaded

Books are read from your own iCloud Drive and downloaded to your iPhone one at a time, when you open them. They never pass through our servers.

Synced through your iCloud

Reading position, highlights, goals, reflections and chats sync in your own private iCloud database. Apple keeps it under your Apple Account; we cannot read it.

AI on the phone first

The book chat runs on your iPhone by default. If you choose the stronger engine, only the few passages it needs and your question are sent to answer you, and we keep none of it.

The details, in plain words: privacy policy.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Does MyBooks sell books?

No. MyBooks is a library and reader for EPUB and PDF files you already own and keep in your iCloud Drive. Bring your own books: there is no store and no DRM-protected purchases.

Are my books uploaded anywhere?

No. They stay in your iCloud Drive, under your Apple Account. When you open a book, the iPhone downloads that one file from your iCloud Drive to the phone. Nothing goes to Knaizen.

Why do I need to sign in with Apple?

Sign in with Apple ties your subscription and settings to you, in one tap, without a password. Apple gives us a private identifier and, only if you choose to share them, your name and an email address, which can be Apple's private relay address. They are kept on your iPhone.

How does "talk to the book" work?

The app picks the passages near where you are reading and the ones that match your question, and the AI answers from them. By default this runs on the phone with Apple's on-device model (on iPhones that support Apple Intelligence), so nothing leaves the phone. Subscribers can switch to Claude, a stronger model by Anthropic: then only those passages, your question and the recent messages of the chat are sent, through our server, to Anthropic to answer you. Whole books are never sent. We store none of it.

What syncs between my devices?

Your reading position, bookmarks, highlights, want-to-read and finished lists, collections, reading goals and history, reflections and chats. They sync through your own private iCloud database, which counts against your own iCloud storage. If you are not signed in to iCloud, everything stays on the iPhone.

How do I cancel?

On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Knaizen MyBooks. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or the current period ends to avoid the next charge.

Is there an Android or iPad version?

MyBooks starts on iPhone. iPad and Android are planned for later.
